March Radness Art Making and Exhibit 2/24

March Madness is right around the corner, and with March Madness comes MARCH RADNESS!

March Radness is a showcase celebrating the intersections of athletics, creative expression, and sneaker culture and features artwork created by athletes and artists from the Richmond community, as well as a collection of works and custom designed sneakers by local artists and sneaker heads. In partnership with Gallery5, this art-making event is coming up soon. This drop-in event is appropriate for all ages and FREE for UTurn members.

Art Making:

When: Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Time: 4:30-5:30pm at UTurn

What's Involved: Participants are able to design their own 2-D sneaker for the "March Radness" show. Instruction and materials provided.

Exhibit Information:

Soft Opening

When: Thursday, March 3, 2022

Where: Gallery5 | 200 W. Marshall St.

Time: 6:00pm at UTurn

What's Involved: March Radness Soft Opening -- Social–Invite Only (be the first to see your shoe designs in the gallery show).

Musical guests: Classical Revolution RVA. Proof of vaccination required by Gallery5.

First Fridays Opening

When: Friday, March 4, 2022

Where: Gallery5 | 200 W. Marshall St.

Time: 5:00pm at UTurn

What's Involved: March 4, 2022. 5pm. March Radness First Fridays Opening (see your shoe designs in the gallery show).

Musical guests: Dave Watkins / Sam Reed (Black Janis) / WRIR DJ. Open to the public. Proof of vaccination required by Gallery5.
